We are proud recipients of the Vladimir Hanus Award. Yesterday, the Ioannes Marcus Marci Spectroscopic Society (https://lnkd.in/eMZyQCyd) bestowed the Award in commemoration of Dr. Vladimir Hanus (1923-2009), a pioneering figure in the field of international mass spectrometry. With Miroslav Ryska and Petr Sedmera, Vladimir Hanus served as my advisor during the formative stages of my research career. From this perspective, V. Hanus’s annual award for the Best Paper on Mass Spectrometry represents an essential recognition for my team. The winning paper (https://lnkd.in/edPMmUqy) was published by the American Society for Microbiology last year and contributed by Dominika Luptáková, Rutuja Patil, Radim Dobias, David A. Stevens, Tomas Pluhacek, Andrea Palyzová, Marcela Káňová, Milan Navrátil, Zbyněk Vrba, and Petr Hubáček. The award was presented at the 25th Czech Mass Spectrometry School by (from the left) Lukas Placek (@Pragolab, award sponsor), Pavel Matejka, the science secretary of the Society and vice-rector of the VŠCHT Praha – UCT Prague, and Jan Preisler (President of the Czech MS Group).
